International Policy
At DAV Khera Khurd, Delhi, India, we work with a vision that each
day something should happen in school that makes the world a better place to
stay in.
We take inspiration from verse 71
which means: This is mine, that is yours is a petty way of people
in seeing reality;
for those with noble consciousness, the whole world is a family.
We believe that the potential power of combined talents between
nations can greatly improve the amount of knowledge and possible solutions to
the global problems. Through education and exchange, we can become better
collaborators in the world that is fast shrinking into a global village.
The school shall create an Environment in which the DAV Khera Khurd
community can:
·
Work together towards
fulfilling the vision of the school that starts with the tagline
‘ Connecting
Pathways: Rural to Global’
·
Connect with the
global peers, respect, embrace and appreciate the commonalities and differences
in order to understand the world in new ways so that diversity may bring
positive strengths and insights to our human experiences.
·
Enhance
intercultural communication skills of the students by giving them opportunities
to connect and collaborate with their peers from other schools in India and the
other countries.
·
Plan and organise
activities that foster ‘experiential learning’ and embed the learning process
in the student’s heart and mind not just for school but for life.
·
Sensitize the
students and the residents of the villages about issues that affect us at a
global level, like ‘global warming’, misuse of nuclear energy, pollution,
deforestation and depletion of the ozone layer
·
Develop critical
thinking skills that would enable them to find out the best solutions to these
issues while incorporating a global vision for sustainable development.
·
Create a dynamic
shift from superstitions and beliefs which discourage clear and futuristic
thinking patterns.
·
Expose the students
to a diverse range of activities and skills so that they may be able to
discover their inherent qualities and nurture them while developing new
need-based ones.
